OUR REVIEWS

We did a full review, which showed that because conditions had changed since it was designed, it was massively oversized, and not fit for purpose anymore.

Discrete event simulation (DES) in the construction industry

Projects such as the landmark.Edinburgh St James Centre.demonstrate Bryden Wood’s capability in providing specialist façade design and detailing services.

Discrete event simulation (DES) in the construction industry

The St James Centre is a project which uses a natural stone façade. We are providing structural engineering design for all precast panels including the design of bracket connections as well as all stone design and detailing (partly handset and partly panelised).

Discrete event simulation (DES) in the construction industry

We have led the interface detailing between the different façade packages and have carried out all the façade performance engineering and detailing, including: structural, thermal and condensation risk, waterproofing, air tightness, fire and acoustics.. We work with:.

main contractors who are interested in innovation and exploring the benefits of alternative construction systems or DfMA conversions; and looking to de-risk certain packages, eg facades. We wanted to understand just how much standardisation was actually taking place.

We also wanted to map out all of the different typologies it was possible to build, in order to create a common language with which to talk about housing.Because of the density requirements of inner-city London sites, we initially focused on central corridor apartment buildings within PRiSM.

We started with typologies which were most commonly in use and would therefore provide the biggest benefit. However, we built PRiSM so that it could be expanded to include additional housing typologies and geographies in future, if we were to open the app up for further adoption in suburban or rural settings.
